The government has officially approved the recommendations from the Low Pay Commission (LPC) regarding the national living wage (NLW) and national minimum wage (NMW) rates. These new rates will be effective from the pay period starting on or after 1 April 2024. Here’s a summary of the updated rates:

  • National Living Wage (21 and over): £11.44 (an increase of £1.02 or 9.8%)
  • 18-20 Year Old Rate: £8.60 (an increase of £1.11 or 14.8%)
  • 16-17 Year Old Rate: £6.40 (an increase of £1.12 or 21.2%)
  • Apprentice Rate: £6.40 (an increase of £1.12 or 21.2%)
  • Accommodation Offset: £9.99 (an increase of £0.89 or 9.8%)
